2024-25 Premier League: Week 36 – Tottenham vs Crystal Palace

Tottenham Hotspur host London rivals, Crystal Palace in a bottom-half Premier League encounter.

Victory could see Tottenham climb to 14th if Manchester United slip up elsewhere, whilst Palace will stay 12th regardless of the result.

Team News

Son Heung-min could return for Tottenham after he missed their last seven matches in all competitions due to a foot injury.

Lucas Bergvall (ankle), Radu Dragusin (ACL) and James Maddison (knee) remain absent.

Palace will be without Adam Wharton after he picked up an ankle issue in their 1-1 draw at home to Nottingham Forest.

Matt Turner is available for selection after he was ineligible to face Forest.

Chadi Riad and Cheick Doucoure both remain absent with knee injuries.

When is Kick-Off?

Tottenham host Palace at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Sunday 11 May at 2:15pm BST, untelevised live in the UK.

Stat Attack

  • Tottenham have won five of their last six meetings against Palace (W5, L1).
  • Palace are winless in their last 12 league visits to Tottenham (D2, L10), including defeats in each of their last nine trips.
  • Victory would see Palace achieve a first Premier League double against Tottenham.
  • Rodrigo Bentancur has made more interceptions than any other Tottenham player this season, having managed 36 interceptions in 23 league appearances.
  • Palace have scored twice in each of their three away top-flight London derbies in 2025 (W2, D1), with three of their six goals in those games scored by Jean-Philippe Mateta.

Prediction

Following their clinical away Europa League win at Bodø/Glimt, Tottenham can easily have their eyes on the final already but I do expect them to take this game seriously given that they’re still in a fight with West Ham to avoid finishing as the worst London club in the top-flight this season.

Palace meanwhile will of been disappointed to have drawn against Forest because they were the better attacking team yet lacked onside positioning, otherwise they probably would of won if had stayed onside more when finishing off their chances so I want to see a more polished display.

Oliver Glasner’s Eagles though have the FA Cup Final against Manchester City within sight next weekend but given their poor form against City and also in this away league fixture, I think that they will take this seriously because if they can win here then that will be a massive confidence boost to take to Wembley.

Tottenham however will be right up for this in terms of momentum so I can see them nicking a point somehow.

Prediction: Tottenham 1-1 Crystal Palace

Result: Tottenham 0-2 Crystal Palace
