Burnley meet Middlesbrough at Turf Moor in a huge Sky Bet Championship showdown.
Victory will put Burnley top of the table heading into Saturday, whilst Middlesbrough can go fourth if win by two goals or more.
Team News
Burnley have no fresh injury concerns to report following their 2-0 win at Stoke.
Manuel Benson (calf), Lyle Foster Aaron Ramsey (both knee) are still ruled out.
Middlesbrough could welcome Seny Dieng back after he missed their last three matches due to illness.
Riley McGree (leg) and Rav van den Berg (knee) could return too if match fit.
Darragh Lenihan (fitness/Achilles), Aidan Morris (knee), Lukas Engel (muscle) and Tommy Smith (Achilles) are still sidelined.
When is Kick-Off?
Burnley host Middlesbrough at Turf Moor on Friday 6 December at 8pm GMT, live on Sky Sports in the UK.
Stat Attack
- Burnley are unbeaten in their last five meetings against Middlesbrough (W3, D2).
- Middlesbrough have lost two of their last six trips to Burnley (W2, D2, L2).
- Burnley have conceded in three of their last four home games against Boro.
- Scott Parker’s Clarets have conceded just one goal in their last seven games (W4, D2, L1).
- Six of Boro’s last ten away goals have been scored by Emmanuel Latte Lath (4) and Tommy Conway (2).
Prediction
Currently back to winning ways with a strong run of clean sheets, Burnley should feel confident coming into this game given how clinical they’ve been lately but this will be a much tougher test of their defensive credentials.
Boro meanwhile found their attacking groove throughout much of November and with ten goals in their last two away games, I do expect them to bring the fight despite being considered as underdogs but patience will be needed here.
Nevertheless this will be a difficult game for both clubs but if Boro can continue their momentum, they should be able to grind out a result.
Prediction: Burnley 1-1 Middlesbrough
Result: Burnley 1-1 Middlesbrough
