Stat Attack
- West Brom have lost three of their last seven meetings against Middlesbrough (W2, D2, L3).
- Middlesbrough have claimed seven points in their last five visits to West Brom (W2, D1, L2).
- Boro haven’t suffered three consecutive defeats at West Brom since April 1977 – December 1978.
- West Brom are yet to concede at home in the Championship this season (W2, D1).
- Middlesbrough have lost two of their three away trips in the league this season, which both ended in 1-0 losses.
Prediction
With a first league loss of the season now under their belt amidst the tragic death of a supporter in the stands, West Brom certainly will be fired up for this game given that they’re yet to concede on own turf and will want to do their fan proud.
Boro though haven’t quite found their groove yet this season but were clinical against a out-of-defence playing Stoke, which won’t be the case here but they must take their chances against a motivated home team.
This clash therefore should be pretty interesting because if Boro can sit back and try to frustrate West Brom whilst being clinical up front, they might just get something if play it right.
Prediction: WBA 1-1 Middlesbrough
Result: WBA 0-1 Middlesbrough
