Blackpool host Lincoln City at Bloomfield Road in a big League One match.
Locked on 14 points apiece after eight matches with Lincoln ahead on goal difference, victory would see Blackpool leapfrog the Imps into third.
Lincoln meanwhile could go second with a win if Wrexham loses elsewhere, and they score at least two goals at Bloomfield Road if Wrexham lose by a single goal.
Team News
Blackpool have no fresh injury concerns to report after their 3-0 win over Burton Albion.
Dom Ballard (shoulder) is unlikely to return but Andy Lyons (ACL), Elkan Baggott (ankle) and Oliver Norburn (hamstring) remain ruled out.
Lincoln City are likely to be without Ben House after he suffered an injury in their win at Cambridge United.
When is Kick-Off?
Blackpool host Lincoln City at Bloomfield Road on Tuesday 1 October at 7:45pm BST, live on Sky Sports+ in the UK.
Stat Attack
- Blackpool have won one of their last five regular-season league meetings against Lincoln City (W1, D1, L3).
- Lincoln City have won two of their last five visits to Blackpool (W2, L3).
- Blackpool have scored two goals in each of their last four league games at home to Lincoln City.
- Blackpool are looking to win five consecutive league games for the first time since a 11-match run from March – August 2007, including 2006-07 Play-Offs.
- Lincoln City have kept clean sheets in two of their four away games (W3, D1).
Prediction
Unbeaten in four games following Steve Bruce’s arrival, Blackpool have certainly found their attacking groove but this will be their hardest test yet because they will need to show some patience and quality to break Lincoln down.
Lincoln though are unbeaten in 14 away games since their loss here on New Year’s Day and currently in strong form this season, which stands them well coming into this tricky trip against a surging team who made a slow start to their campaign.
This clash therefore feels like it could be tight and cagey or a proper attacking thriller, so I can see it ending somehow in the middle.
Prediction: Blackpool 1-1 Lincoln City
Result: Blackpool 1-1 Lincoln City
