Forward, Scott Twine has joined Bristol City from Burnley for an undisclosed fee.

Twine spent the second-half of last season on loan at Bristol City and managed to score two goals in 10 appearances, in a move which saw him reunited with his ex MK Dons manager – Liam Manning.

Following discussions between City and Burnley over the summer, this move now became a permanent transfer for an undisclosed fee, with Twine departing Turf Moor after creating three goals and one assist in just 18 appearances for the Clarets.

Speaking about his permanent move to Ashton Gate on a four-year contract until June 2028, Twine commented: “It was a no brainer for me to come back and I am delighted it has finally been sorted.”

Manning added that he is happy to welcome Twine back on a full-time basis and believes that the 25 year-old can kick on this season.

“It has been no secret the desire to bring Scott back to the club, and it has been a long time coming but we are delighted to get the deal over the line.

“We know the strengths he brings, and feel he has some unfinished business here at Ashton Gate.

“He loved his time here last season, and we are excited to have him back.”

Burnley meanwhile thanked Twine for his contributions to the club and wished him well with the Robins.

“The Club would like to thank Scott for all his efforts during his time with the Clarets and wish him all the best for the future.”

Twine began his career with Royal Wootton Bassett Town’s youth academy, before he went on to join Southampton then Swindon Town’s youth academies.

His senior debut came as a substitute for Swindon on the final day of 2015-16 season and he went on to score nine goals in 59 appearances, amidst two loans at Chippenham Town plus spells at Waterford and Newport County on loan.

June 2021 saw Twine join MK Dons where he scored 20 goals in 50 appearances which led to his move to Burnley, during which he spent the first half of last season on loan at Hull which saw him net four goals in 26 appearances.
