Five Key Pointers
- Given the high downforce nature of the Hungaroring, this circuit could well suit Ferrari who need a clean race if want to reignite their title hopes.
- Hungaroring is a circuit where it is difficult to overtake unless tyre degradation comes into play, which means that Qualifying could well be crucial in determining the likely race result.
- With fresh upgrades, Mercedes will be hoping for further improvement after a strong Silverstone weekend.
- Having seen Nico Hulkenberg maximise the performance of their upgrades at Silverstone, Haas should feel confident of a strong result for both cars here.
- Hot track temperatures are forecast all weekend which could well place further importance on tyre management with less grip on the track surface.
Last Time Out
Hamilton took pole in 2023 at the Hungaroring but lost the lead to Verstappen off the line, from which the Dutchman dominated the race to take victory from Norris in a historic 12th consecutive win for a single team.
