Barnsley will host Mansfield Town in the opening match of 2024-25 League One season.
Last season’s losing play-off semi-finalists, Barnsley will open the new season at home to newly-promoted Mansfield on Friday 9 August at 8pm BST live on Sky Sports+, under Sky’s new EFL deal for the next five years.
The 11 other opening weekend fixtures will all take place on Saturday 10 August at 5:30pm simultaneously, with Birmingham’s home game against Reading shown on Sky Sports Football whilst the remaining fixtures can be streamed on Sky Sports +.
Other opening weekend highlights include Wrexham’s return to League One at home to Wycombe Wanderers, whilst relegated Rotherham and Huddersfield visit Exeter and Peterborough respectively.

The regular season will reach its conclusion on weekend of 3-4 May 2025 with all 12 fixtures played at the same time, with Birmingham the only relegated team away as the Blues visit Cambridge United whilst Huddersfield and Rotherham host Leyton Orient and Peterborough respectively.
Wrexham could look for a third consecutive promotion and face Lincoln City on the final day, which could be a huge game if the Imps are also in the mix for promotion or play-offs again.
