Sky have unveiled Sky Sports+ which will launch in August ahead of the 2024-25 EFL season.
Sky Sports+ will have up to 100 concurrent streams covering multiple sports including the EFL across the mobile app and a dedicated new channel, whilst it will also be integrated into Sky TV, streaming service – Now and the Sky Sports mobile app which will be revamped.
This new streaming service will be launched in early August ahead of the new EFL season which marks the start of Sky’s latest broadcasting contract across the EFL, with over 1,000 games set to be broadcast live across the next five seasons.
Every team across the Championship will be shown live on 24 occasions at minimum, whilst League One and League Two clubs will be shown at least 20 times, with all fixtures on opening and final weekends of the season broadcast live.
Fixtures played in midweek and Bank Holiday will also all be broadcast live as part of the new contract which runs until the end of 2028-29 season.
Sky Sports Managing Director, Jonathan Licht has described Sky Sports+ as a streaming service which will “… offer sport fans more choice and an even better experience when watching the live action, at no extra cost.”
Licht continued: “For the first time, we will broadcast every game live from across the EFL on the opening weekend. It’s going to be a huge moment for football fans up and down the country and is a fitting way to kick off our ground-breaking new partnership with the EFL.
“And this is just the beginning; Sky Sports+ unlocks the potential for us to keep evolving and finding new ways to deliver brilliant sport to our customers.”
