Juan Manuel Correa has completed DAMS’ driver line-up for 2024 F2 season.

Manuel Correa drove for Van Amersfoort Racing this season in his first full campaign back in F2 since 2019 – after he made a guest appearance in the final round in 2022, and he went on to finish 19th in the standings with 13 points and a best finish of fourth in the Austrian Sprint Race.

The 24 year-old American Ecuadorian – formerly part of Sauber Junior Team – though will now move to DAMS for the 2024 season, partnering Jak Crawford who has switched from Hitech GP to the French team.

Speaking about his decision to join DAMS, a “delighted” Manuel Correa said: “I feel that it is the best place for me to continue to rebuild my career and push towards my long-term objectives. I’m eager to begin working with the team and to show what I can do on track.”

DAMS Team Owner and ex F1 driver, Charles Pic added: “We are excited to see Juan Manuel join us for 2024, he has potential and is a great team player.

We’ve already seen encouraging signs that he’s forming a strong working relationship with Jak and the rest of the crew.

He has shown his resilient mentality with his desire to return to racing after a very difficult period out of the sport.

“His ability to provide useful feedback to our engineers and his willingness to absorb new information leaves us confident that we can achieve strong results together in the coming year.”

Manuel Correa tested with DAMS during the post-season test in Abu Dhabi last month during which he finished 14th fastest on the final day, although every driver was running different programmes which meant that the overall classifications were meaningless.

During his first stint in F2 which was ended by a serious accident at Spa Francorchamps, Belgium, Manuel Correa achieved second-placed podium finishes in the Azerbaijan and French Sprint Races for Charouz.
