West Ham continue their top-ten push against Wolves at the London Stadium.
Victory would see West Ham move up to seventh if Brighton lose elsewhere in the Sunday mid-afternoon kick-offs.
Wolves can go 11th with a win if Brentford fail to beat Aston Villa elsewhere.
Team News
Edson Alvarez is a doubt for West Ham after he suffered a hip injury in their Europa League win over Freiburg.
Michail Antonio (knee) is unlikely to feature unless he is declared match fit by club doctors.
Wolves could be without midfielder, Mario Lemina after he suffered a hamstring injury during last weekend’s 1-1 draw against Nottingham Forest.
Rayan Ait-Nouri (ankle) is a doubt but Jonny (personal), Joseph Hodge (shoulder) and Pedro Neto (hamstring) are still ruled out.
When is Kick-Off?
West Ham host Wolves in a 2pm GMT kick-off on Sunday 17 December at London Stadium, live on Sky Sports in the UK.
Stat Attack
- West Ham have won four of their last six league meetings against Wolves (W4, L2).
- Wolves have won two of their last five visits to West Ham (W2, L3).
- West Ham have scored seven goals in their last three home matches against Wolves without conceding (W3).
- David Moyes’ Hammers have scored first in each of their six league games at home in which they have scored at least one goal this season (W3, D2, L1).
- Matheus Cunha has scored in three of his last four away appearances for Wolves (W1, L3).
Prediction
With their European antics now on a winter hiatus until March, West Ham must now make hay domestically if want to push for European qualification via the domestic league, although they must build upon their clinical win over Freiburg in what will be a tricky contest.
Wolves though have hit a slight rut with two wins in their last seven games but are definitely a team who aren’t playing badly, although their attacking play can’t be as sloppy as it was against Forest at times so I do expect them to improve and really take the fight to the Hammers.
I therefore wouldn’t be surprised if this game becomes a tactical battleground because both teams do have enough quality to cause issues for each other, so a draw might be a fair outcome.
Prediction: West Ham 1-1 Wolves
Result: West Ham 3-0 Wolves
