Rangers meanwhile knew that only a win would realistically see them qualify for the knockout stages, whilst Liverpool were already through as Group E winners as they visited Union Saint-Gilloise in a dead rubber match.

Group A
Goals from Mohammed Kudus and Edson Alvarez saw West Ham beat SC Freiburg 2-0 to top Group A, which meant that the Hammers bypassed the knockout play-offs and advanced into the Round of 16.
Daniel Podence’s brace helped Olympiacos drop into the Europa Conference League’s knockouts with a 5-2 home win over TSC.
Group B
Joao Pedro struck a 88th minute winner as Brighton stunned Marseille to top Group B with a 1-0 win, which saw the Seagulls claim a Round of 16 spot ahead of their French opposition.
Chuba Akpom’s brace and Kenneth Taylor’s goal saw Ajax beat AEK Athens 3-1 to secure a place in the Europa Conference League knockouts.
Group C
Kemar Roofe netted a 78th minute winner as Rangers beat Real Betis 3-2 away to top Group C after Abdallah Sima and Cyriel Dressers saw first-half goals cancelled out by Juan Miranda and Ayoze Perez in a thriller.
Jan Kuchta’s fourth-minute goal plus Veljko Bimancevic’s brace saw Sparta Prague beat Aris Limassol 3-1 to finish second in the group, which sent the Czech Republic team into the knockout play-offs.
Group D
Luis Muriel’s brace plus goals from Giovanni Bonfanti and Charles De Ketelaere saw Atalanta win 4-0 away to Rakow Czestochowa to top Group D.
Viktor Gyokeres’ strike plus Goncalo Inacio’s brace saw Sporting Lisbon beat Sturm Graz as the Portuguese club finished second in the group.
Group E
Cameron Puertas struck a 43rd minute winner as Union Saint-Gilloise beat Liverpool 2-1 at home, after Jarell Quansah cancelled out Mohamed Amoura’s opening goal.
Gabriel Suazo however scored a 83rd minute winner for Toulouse in a 2-1 away win over LASK to send the French club into the knockout play-offs at Union Saint-Gilloise’s expense, although Thijs Dallinga’s opening goal was cancelled out by Marin Ljubicic.
Group F
Daniel Parejo netted a 80th minute winner for Villarreal in a 3-2 away win over Rennes to top Group F ahead of the French club, as Gerard Moreno and Ilias Akhomach’s goals were cancelled out by Lorenz Assignon and Ludovic Blas.
Dean David and Tjaronn Chery fired Maccabi Haifa into the Europa Conference League knockouts with a third-placed finish, as the Israelian club won 2-1 away at Panathinaikos.
Group G
Mojmir Chytil’s brace plus goals from David Doudera and Ivan Schranz saw Slavia Prague beat Servette 4-0 to top Group G.
Roma qualified for the Knockout Play-Offs after a 3-0 home win over Sheriff Tiraspol, who missed out on the chance to drop into the Europa Conference League at expense of Servette.
Group H
Adam Hlozek’s second-half brace saw Bayer Leverkusen top Group H unbeaten following a 5-1 home win over Molde, with Patrik Schick and Edmond Tapsoba also on the scoresheet alongside a 25th minute own-goal from Martin Ellingsen.
First-half goals from Leandro Andrade and Yassine Benzia proved enough for Qarabag to advance as the group runners-up with a 2-1 win over BK Hacken, who netted a late consolatory goal through Abbas Huseynov’s own goal.
