Swindon Town have signed defender, Mitch Clark on a free transfer.
Clark will join Swindon officially on 1 July 2026 once his contract at Port Vale has expired, having scored one goal in 53 appearances in his third stint for the Valiants during which he was part of their 2024-25 promotion-winning team, only to suffer relegation back to League Two at the end of the recent season.
The 27 year-old is excited to join Swindon and has vowed to fight hard to help the Robins achieve success on his initial one-year contract until June 2027, although there is an option to extend by a further year.

“I’m 27 years old now, so I’m an older player compared to some people nowadays, and the fact that I experienced a promotion two years ago with Port Vale, I’m hoping to experience that again.”
Clark began his senior career at Aston Villa where he came through their youth academy to make one appearance in August 2017 against Wigan, before he spent the 2018-19 season on loan at Port Vale.
He however left Villa to join Leicester following that season yet spent a season-and-a-half on loan back at Port Vale in a second spell, which saw him produce one goal in 16 appearances.
Clark spent 2021-22 & 22-23 seasons at Accrington Stanley with one goal in 67 appearances before he returned to Port Vale for a three-year spell, which saw two relegations to League Two and an immediate promotion back to League One.
The 27 year-old defender recently spent the second half of the 2025-26 season on loan at Fleetwood Town where he made 14 appearances.
