Arsenal welcome Wolves to the Emirates Stadium, as Mikel Arteta’s Gunners look to extend their lead in the Premier League title race.
Victory would see Arsenal stay top of the table, whilst Wolves can go tenth with a win if Brentford fail to beat Luton.
Team News
Despite having been available for Arsenal’s midweek win over Lens in the Champions League, Fabio Vieira is ruled out after he needed surgery on a groin injury.
Jurrien Timbers, Emile Smith Rowe (both knee) and Thomas Partey (muscle) remain absent.
Wolves will welcome defender, Craig Dawson back into contention after he was suspended for their defeat at Fulham.
Rayan Ait Nouri (ankle) is a doubt but Joseph Hodge (shoulder) and Pedro Neto (hamstring) are still ruled out.
When is Kick-Off?
Arsenal host Wolves at Emirates Stadium on Saturday 2 December in a 3pm GMT kick-off, untelevised live in the UK.
Stat Attack
- Arsenal have won four of their last six meetings against Wolves (W4, L2).
- Wolves have claimed six points in their last six visits to Arsenal (W1, D3, L2).
- Four of Arsenal’s seven goals against Wolves last season were scored by central midfielders, with both Martin Odegaard and ex player – Granit Xhaka having both scored twice.
- Leandro Trossard has scored twice and created one assist apiece in Arsenal’s last two home games in all competitions.
- Wolves have lost both away games to London-based opposition by 3-2 results (L2) this season, with Matheus Cunha and Hwang Hee-Chan having netted in both matches.
Prediction
Having delivered a frustratingly wasteful performance at Brentford last weekend aside from a late clinical moment, Arsenal were absolutely superb in their dominant midweek win over Lens with fantastic game management and end product whilst conserving energy.
Wolves meanwhile will be disappointed to have not got a draw at Fulham after twice fighting back if not for a late VAR fiasco in the hosts’ favour, but they are clearly on the right track although they can’t start as sloppy as they did at Craven Cottage.
Do that then Arsenal will certainly beat them but Wolves should hopefully give the Gunners a proper battle, although there will be no stopping Arsenal if they play like they did on Wednesday evening yet Wolves should have enough quality to snatch a goal.
Prediction: Arsenal 3-1 Wolves
Result: Arsenal 2-1 Wolves
