Roundup of the penultimate matchweek in the group stages of 2023-24 UEFA Europa Conference League. 

Aston Villa entered this round looking to move top and closer towards guaranteeing a bye to the Round of 16.

Aberdeen meanwhile were already eliminated but looked to finish third in a difficult group, as the Dons headed to Helsinki in a dead rubber encounter.

 

Group A

Remy Cabella and Yusuf Yazici scored for Group A leaders, Lille in a 2-0 away win at Olimpija Ljubljana.

Juraj Kucka’s brace saw Slovan Bratislava come from behind to beat already-eliminated Ki 2-1, after the hosts took a 17th minute lead through Mads Boe Mikkelsen.

 

Group B

Malick Fofana, Gift Orban and Omri Gandelman found the net for Gent in a 4-1 home victory over Zorya Luhansk.

Eran Zahavi struck a 82nd minute winner as Maccabi Tel Aviv won 2-1 away to Breidablik, after the hosts’ Gisli Eyjolfsson cancelled out Dan Biton’s opening goal.

 

Group C

Pavel Sulc struck a 81st minute winner for Group C winners, Viktoria Plzen away to Ballkani.

Second-half goals from Gabriel Vidovic and Takuro Kaneko saw Dinamo Zagreb win 2-0 away to Astana, which put the Croatian club up to second ahead of their final group match.

 

Group D

Igor Thiago scored twice as Club Brugge beat Besiktas 5-0 to stay top of Group D, with Casper Nielsen, Raphael Onyedika and Andreas Skov Olsen also on the scoresheet.

Amalh Pellegrino scored twice as second-placed Bodø/Glimt saw off Lugano 5-2 in a thrilling contest.

 

Group E

Alex Moreno struck a 58th minute winner as Aston Villa beat Legia Warsaw 2-1 after Moussa Diaby’s goal was cancelled out by Legia’s Ernest Muci, although away fans weren’t allowed into Villa Park due to disorder outside the ground.

Vangelis Pavlidis struck a 59th minute penalty winner as AZ Alkmaar beat Zrinjski Mostar 1-0 at AFAS Stadion.

 

Group F

Nicolas Gonzalez’s 82nd minute penalty saw Fiorentina seal qualification with a comeback 2-1 win at home to Genk, after Lucas Martinez cancelled out Joris Kayembe’s 45th minute opening goal.

Late goals from Kristoffer Zachariassen and Aleksandar Pesic saw Ferencvaros fight back to win 2-1 at Cukaricki, as the hosts finished with ten men after Vukasin Jovanovic was red carded in the 101st minute.

 

Group G

Andrija Zivkovic’s 73rd minute winner saw PAOK Salonika beat ten-man Eintracht Frankfurt 2-1 to top Group G, after Tomas Kedziora’s opening goal was cancelled out by Omar Marmoush before Frankfurt’s Kristijan Jakic was sent off in injury time for a second bookable offence.

Angus MacDonald and Duk found the net as Aberdeen fought back to draw 2-2 against Helsinki in a dead rubber match, after Hassane Bande and Santerri Hostikka had put the hosts into a two-goal lead.

 

Group H

Benjamin Nygren’s hat-trick fired Nordsjælland top of Group H with a 6-1 home win over Fenerbahce.

Ludogorets Razgrad took advantage of Fenerbahce’s loss to move up to second as Matias Tissera netted a 95th minute winner in a 2-1 win at Spartak Trnava, after Kwadwo Duah’s 74th minute goal had been cancelled out by Erik Daniel’s equaliser.
