Williams junior, Zak O’Sullivan has graduated to Formula 2 with ART GP for the 2024 season.

O’Sullivan finished as vice-champion for PREMA in this year’s F3 season with four wins and one further podium finish, which attracted the attention of ART GP who have swooped for the 18 year-old Brit as he graduates to F2 next season.

“I am delighted to join forces with ART Grand Prix for the 2024 FIA Formula 2 season,” commented O’Sullivan who believes that the team “has all the attributes to win,” after guiding Alfa Romeo junior, Theo Pourchaire to the cusp of this year’s title with one round left.

ART GP Team Principal, Sebastien Philippe is “delighted” to have signed O’Sullivan for next season, having followed the Cheltenham-born driver for an extensive period of time.

Philippe proceeded to praise O’Sullivan for his mental attitude towards chasing titles, as he said: “His background and mentality are in line with ART Grand Prix’s mission to take young drivers to the highest level of motorsport and it is with pleasure and honour that we welcome a member of the Williams Driver Academy.”

Looking ahead to next season, Philippe expects the Brit to be fighting for wins early on in the campaign as he concluded: “With a good winter preparation, his approach to racing and his ability to adapt should allow him to fight at the front in his first year.”

Confirmation of O’Sullivan’s move to F2 comes less than one week after his fellow Williams Academy driver, Franco Colapinto was confirmed at MP Motorsport for next season.
