Norwich City have signed defender, Jack Stacey from Bournemouth on a free transfer.
Stacey’s move brings his time at Bournemouth to an end, having scored just one goal in 97 appearances for the Cherries since he arrived from Luton Town in July 2019.
The 27 year-old posted a tribute to Bournemouth on Twitter as he described the Cherries as ‘a really special club, of which he is ‘really proud’ to have been part of – having helped the club back up then stay in the Premier League after they were relegated at the end of his first season there.
I wanted to take a moment to thank everyone at @afcbournemouth.
Signing for the club back in July 2019 was a dream come true for me as it gave me the chance to play Premier League football, and I couldn’t have wished to have joined a better club. pic.twitter.com/gSc6Bj7hDg— Jack Stacey (@jackstacey_) May 31, 2023
It is a really special club, and I feel really proud to have played a small part in getting them back up to the Premier League. Today I am moving on to a new club and a challenge I’m really excited about, but I will always be grateful for the time I’ve spent at Bournemouth. 🍒

Stacey though has decided to move on upon expiry of his contract on 30 June and will join Norwich on a free transfer, having signed a three-year contract at Carrow Road.
Explaining his decision to join Norwich who finished 13th in this season’s Championship, Stacey commented: “I’m really looking forward to getting started. It’s a club whose ambitions match mine.”
Stacey proceeded to explain that he wants to play “intense, fast, forward football, something I believe will suit my style of play and something that I can fit into.”
On his targets across the next three seasons, Stacey has only one target in mind as he added: “I’m really excited. I feel like I’m coming into my peak years, I’ve got experience from being around different clubs. I want to get back to the Premier League and this is the perfect club to do that.”
Norwich’s Head Coach, David Wagner added that Stacey has been on their transfer target list in recent months, as he said: “He has a lot of experience, throughout the Football League and in the Premier League, and a great attitude and desire to drive this football club forward.
“He has all of the characteristics that a modern-day full-back requires and knows exactly what it takes to be successful at this level.”
