Sky Sports have selected seven final-day fixtures for live broadcast in 2022-23 season across the EFL.

League One kicks off the 2022-23 EFL season finale weekend with play-off and relegation spots to be settled in the third tier, with Sky choosing to prioritise the race for the final play-off spot as their focus amongst the 12pm BST kick-offs on Sunday 7 May.

Sky’s main game from that division sees Derby County heading to third-placed Sheffield Wednesday, knowing that a win could see the Rams and Owls meet in a two-legged play-off semi-final if Derby finish sixth.

That clash will be broadcast across Sky Sports Main Event and Sky Sports Football with buildup from 11:30am, whilst Peterborough’s trip to fourth-placed Barnsley will be aired on Sky Sports Arena at the same time – albeit with post-match coverage of both games on Arena until 2:30pm.

The decision to air post-match coverage on Arena comes about due to Sky airing Hearts’ Scottish Premiership clash against Celtic from 2pm on Main Event and Football channels.

Darren Ferguson’s Posh know that only victory away at Barnsley could see them sneak into the play-off if Derby lose at Hillsborough, although a win with a goal difference swing of at least three goals would be enough to qualify by virtue of goals scored if Derby draw in their game.

Across in League Two on Mondau 8 May at 12:30pm BST, Sky will broadcast Northampton Town’s trip to Tranmere Rovers with the third-placed Cobblers having their automatic promotion fate in their own hands, with the match set to be broadcast on Main Event and Football channels.

Stockport County’s home clash against relegated Hartlepool United meanwhile will be shown on Arena at the same time, with Stockport needing to win and hope that Northampton suffer a draw or defeat if The Hatters are to sneak automatic promotion.

Sky’s regular-season coverage of EFL fixtures will conclude with three Championship games simultaneously at 3pm on 8 May, with Main Event focused on Millwall’s showdown against Blackburn Rovers at The Den.

Gary Rowett’s Lions know that a win would seal a play-off spot and end Blackburn’s dreams, although Blackburn must win to stand any chance of qualfying for the play-offs but their fate lies in Sunderland and West Brom’s hands due to their inferior goal difference.

Sky consequently have opted to put Sunderland’s trip to Preston on Sky Sports Football channel, with Tony Mowbray’s Mackems needing a win coupled with his former club – Blackburn doing them a favour elsewhere if the Black Cats are to reach the play-offs.

West Brom’s trip to Swansea will air on Arena with Carlos Corberan’s Baggies having to win and hope that Sunderland and Millwall both fail to take victory elsewhere, because they would qualify even with a Blackburn win due to their superior goal difference over Rovers.
