ART GP have signed Kaylen Frederick to complete their driver line-up for 2023 FIA F3 season.
2023 will see Frederick compete in F3 for a third consecutive season, having mustered up 29 points in total across the last two campaigns with Carlin and Hitech GP respectively, of which his best-placed finish in 31 races saw him claim fifth in the 2022 British Sprint Race for Hitech at Silverstone.
The 20 year-old American however won’t remain with Hitech after he once again opted for a team switch and will race for ART GP next season, having enjoyed a successful post-season test for the team in Jerez, Spain, despite only participating in the opening two days of the three-day test.
Addressing his decision to move to ART GP for next season, Frederick said that he is “very happy” to join the French team and described the chance to race for “a prestigious” junior team as “extremely exciting.
Frederick also reflected on the potential that he and ART GP has together to fight for podiums and race victories, as he commented: “Our performance and relationship have been promising from our first on track outings and I can’t wait to build on this over the winter and throughout the coming season.”
ART GP Team Principal, Sebastien Philippe added that he is “confident” in Frederick’s “talent” and “ability to exploit his full potential” with the team after a strong test debut.
Philippe also iterated that as 2020 British F3 champion, Frederick already has “experience” of fighting and “managing” a title fight with “undeniable” qualities, which makes him “a double asset” across an extended ten round campaign in 2023 which includes new trips to Australia and Monaco.
Frederick will drive the number 9 car and partner Gregoire Saucy plus Nikola Tsoolov, who are already confirmed for ART GP and will take number 7 and 8 cars respectively next season.
