Campos has announced that Kush Maini completes their driver line-up for 2023 FIA F2 season.

Maini’s graduation to F2 comes after a modest F3 campaign for MP Motorsport in which he finished 14th overall, during which he claimed one podium finish – third place in the Hungarian Sprint amidst a wave of inconsistent performances.

F2 will also be Maini’s seventh different single-seater series in his junior career, having previously raced in Italian F4, ADAC F4, British F3, Formula Renault Eurocup, F3 Asia and F3, whilst he spent 2021 in FIA World Endurance in LMP2 class with ARC Bratislava.

“Super happy to be joining Campos Racing team!” commented Maini on his move and he will participate in the three-day 2022 F2 Post Season Test with Campos between 23-25 November.

“I’ve spent sometime with the team at their workshop and really enjoyed the atmosphere and the professionalism,” added Maini as he praised Campos for welcoming him into the team with ease as he can’t wait to “officially” get to work on track in the test.

Campos Team Principal, Adrian Campos meanwhile praised Maini for his professionalism as he said: “He is a very committed, professional racing driver with a great work capacity, so we expect he will be able to complete a strong rookie season next year.”

On why Maini has been signed to the team for next season in F2 despite struggling to impress in F3 this season, Campos added: “He carried out some strong performances in FIA Formula 3 this season and hopefully he will make further improvements in the ultra-competitive FIA F2 Championship.”

Maini will partner Ralph Boschung next season after the Swiss driver was retained by Campos for a third consecutive season.

This announcement means that Maini is the eighth driver confirmed on the F2 grid for next season, and third to step up from F3 after Oliver Bearman and Arthur Leclerc secured moves with PREMA and DAMS respectively.

Maini will also be the third Indian driver to race in the modern era of Formula 2 after his brother – Arjun Maini and Jehan Daruvala.
