Premier League officials have confirmed amendments of various fixtures in October 2022.
Following last week’s Group Stage draw for 2022-23 UEFA Champions League and subsequent confirmation of fixture dates, several Premier League fixtures have had to be moved – including Chelsea’s home clash against West Ham in the first weekend of September.
Thomas Tuchel’s Blues were set to host their cross-London rivals at Stamford Bridge at 2pm BST live on Sky Sports on Sunday 4 September, but that fixture has been moved forward 23 hours to Saturday 6 September due to Chelsea playing away to Croatia’s Dinamo Zagreb on Tuesday 6 September.
Sky consequently have dropped that match and opted instead to broadcast high-flying Brighton’s home clash against Leicester, which was already scheduled for the same timeslot due to the visitors hosting Manchester United on Thursday 1 September.
There however have been six further changes in October which largely affects Amazon’s midweek coverage across 18-20 October.
Brentford’s West-London derby clash against Chelsea and Arsenal’s blockbuster match against Manchester City were both originally scheduled for Thursday 20 October, but have had to be arranged due to Chelsea and Man City playing in Europe on Tuesday 25 October.
Both fixtures therefore will now kick off on Wednesday 19 October at 7:30pm, alongside West Ham and Everton’s trips to Liverpool and Newcastle respectively.
Man City’s home clash against Brighton meanwhile have consequently been brought forward 23 hours from 23 October to Saturday 22 October, although it will remain untelevised in its new timeslot of 3pm BST.
Amazon consequently have opted to split their two remaining matches scheduled for 20 October, with Fulham’s clash at home to Aston Villa staying as a 7:30pm BST kick-off whilst Leeds’ trip to Leicester will kick off at 8:15pm BST kick-off – 45 minutes later than originally scheduled.
Chelsea’s encounter against Manchester United at Stamford Bridge meanwhile has also been rearranged from 23 October for 22 October, although kick-off time is yet to be announced with a Saturday Night Football slot unlikely to be used due to potential policing concerns.
The same issue also applies seven days later as Leeds’ clash against Liverpool at Elland Road has shifted from 30 October to 29 October, yet potential policing concerns again means that an evening kick-off is unlikely so kick-off time is currently yet to be finalised.
Premier League officials have also confirmed that league fixtures involving teams in European action scheduled for November will be announced circa 13 September, alongside broadcast selection for that month.
Here is the updated latest schedule of matches chosen for live broadcast between September-October 2022.
