FA Confirm Broadcast Details For 2021-22 FA Cup Semi-Finals

England Football Association has confirmed broadcast details for the semi-finals of 2021-22 FA Cup and 2021-22 Vitality Women’s FA Cup.

BBC will televise Manchester City’s blockbuster semi-final showdown against Liverpool as part of a footballing double-header on BBC One on Saturday 16 April.

The crunch tie will be held at Wembley Stadium amidst rumours of a switch elsewhere due to transport issues caused by Network Rail’s decision to schedule ‘essential engineering works’ on the West Coast Mainline across Easter weekend.

This means that no train services will run between London Euston and Scotland on the West Coast Mainline, in turn creating extra disruption for Chiltern Railways, who alongside FA and Network Rail have urged Man City and Liverpool supporters to avoid travel from the North West via train.

The FA have therefore chartered 100 buses from the Etihad Stadium and Anfield respectively to transport supporters to Wembley and back post-match, with up to 5,000 fans of both clubs able to travel free of charge to the match.

Manchester City Women meanwhile will visit West Ham in the semi-finals of this season’s Vitality Women’s FA Cup, with kick-off set for 12:15pm, ahead of the men’s team match against Liverpool at 3:30pm with both matches on 16 April to be broadcast live on BBC One.

FA officials have therefore also agreed to provide free return bus services for supporters of Man City Women’s team travelling from the North West to East London, although buses for both ties must be pre-booked with clubs set to provide further information.

BBC will also televise the blockbuster semi-final tie in the Women’s FA Cup as Arsenal host Chelsea on Sunday 17 April in a 12:30pm kick-off on BBC Two, in a rematch of last season’s final which the Blues won 3-0 to secure their third Women’s FA Cup title.

Supporters of both Chelsea men and women’s teams also won’t face a clash of semi-finals with the men’s team facing Crystal Palace in a 4:30pm kick-off live on ITV at Wembley Stadium.
