Trident have announced that Roman Stanek will complete their driver line-up for 2022 F3 season.
Stanek has competed in the last two F3 seasons for Charouz and Hitech GP respectively, in which he finished 21st and 16th overall respectively across both seasons despite improving his points total from just three points in 2020 to 29 points in 2021.
The 17 year-old went on to participate in the 2021 F3 Post-Season Test for Trident where he finished fifth overall, demonstrating what Trident have described as ‘a convincing level of performance.’
Speaking about his move to Trident for his third season in F3, Stanek said: “I am proud to be part of the Trident Motorsport line-up as it is a leading force among F3 teams. I hope to bring in experience and speed to help the team defend its 2021 title.”
Stanek who was born in Valasske Mezirici went on to iterate that his two seasons in F3 so far will benefit him as he added: “In my first two seasons in the FIA Formula 3 Championship, I’ve grown up constantly, and I am sure that with Trident Motorsport, we will have all the components needed to compete at a high level.”
Trident Team Principal, Giacomo Ricci meanwhile added that the reigning teams’ champions are “proud” to sign Stanek, despite the 17 year-old struggling to deliver in his first two seasons in F3.
Ricci proceeded to iterate that this move will enable Stanek to fight for race victories and titles as he continued: “Despite being only 17, Roman is in his third year in the category and will bring the right amount of experience and speed.
“That will allow the team to continue its winning tradition in the FIA Formula 3 Championship. Roman impressed the technical staff during the 2021 post-season test when he was constantly among the fastest drivers on the track.”
The new F3 season will commence in Bahrain from 18-20 March with Trident now having fully completed their driver line-up compromising of; Jonny Edgar, Roman Stanek and Zane Maloney.
