Kevin De Bruyne curled a 70th minute winner into the bottom right corner as Manchester City scraped a 1-0 home win over Chelsea, which saw Pep Guardiola’s Citizens move 13 points clear of Thomas Tuchel’s Blues in the title race.
Goals from Fabinho, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Takumi Minamino saw Liverpool thrash Brentford 3-0 to climb to second, albeit 11 points off Man City with a game in hand.
Jarrod Bowen netted twice as West Ham thrashed Norwich in midweek to go fourth, yet could only net an eventual consolatory goal as the Hammers lost 3-2 at home to Leeds United in which Jack Harrison scored a hat-trick for Marcelo Bielsa’s Whites.
Arsenal sit fifth after a lack of player availability forced the Gunners to postpone their North London derby away at sixth-placed Tottenham Hotspur.
Down in the relegation zone, Michael Keane’s own goal plus a close-range effort from Adam Idah fired Norwich up to 18th in a 2-1 home win over Everton, which led the Toffees to fire Rafael Benitez as manager following a disastrous run of form.
Newcastle remain second bottom after Allan Saint-Maximin’s opener was cancelled out by Joao Pedro’s 88th minute header, as Eddie Howe’s Magpies were held to a 1-1 draw at home to Watford.

Finally, Joachim Andersen’s 87th minute own goal saw Brighton snatch a point against Crystal Palace in the M23 derby, after Palace had initially led through Conor Gallagher’s opener.
