Assombalonga departs after scoring 47 goals in 161 appearances for the club in all competitions, with his return of five goals this season representing his worst campaign since 2015-16 season, when he scored just once in four appearances for Nottingham Forest after 14 months out with injury.
Fletcher meanwhile had scored 28 goals in 108 Boro appearances with both him and Assombalonga having departed the Riverside Stadium with immediate effect in April, following failures to agree a new contract with both players.

Archer only produced one start for Boro which came in their Third Round defeat to Brentford in this season’s FA Cup, whilst Mendenz-Laing netted just once in eight appearances.
Under-23 players; Tyrone O’Neill, Cole Kiernan and Tyler Williams have also been released alongside with Scholars – George Waites and Andrew Wilson.
