2020-21 Premier League: Week 32 Roundup

In a dramatic week overshadowed by relegation, controversial failed breakaway plans and a surprise sacking, here is a roundup of the latest Premier League action.

Bernardo Silva provided assists for Phil Foden and Rodri respectively as leaders,  Manchester City came from behind to claim a 2-1 win at Aston Villa, although both teams finished with ten men after John Stones and Matty Cash were dismissed in separate incidents.

Manchester United remain 11 points behind their neighbours in second as Mason Greenwood netted twice in a 3-1 home win over Burnley.

Leicester moved four points clear in third after Jamie Vardy scored and provided an assist in a 3-0 home win over second-bottom West Brom.

Chelsea climbed to fourth on goal difference ahead of West Ham after clinging on for a goalless draw at home to ten-men Brighton, in a match which was delayed 15 minutes due to fans protests outside Stamford Bridge regarding failed European Super League proposals.

Joe Willock’s 82nd minute header saw Newcastle snatch a 3-2 victory over West Ham at St James’ Park, in which the Hammers fought back from two goals down with Issa Diop’s own goal putting the Magpies in front before he headed in the Hammers’ first goal.

Harry Kane’s brace saw Tottenham snatch a 2-2 draw at Everton on Friday evening just days before Jose Mourinho was sacked, with the North Londoners moving into sixth on Wednesday evening after a comeback 2-1 home victory over Southampton.

Down in the relegation zone, Sheffield United were officially relegated after Willian Jose fired in a counter-attack winner for Wolves from Adama Traore’s cutback pass.

Fulham picked up their third point in their last five trips to Arsenal after Eddie Nketiah poked in a controversial late equaliser for the Gunners, following Josh Maja’s 59th minute penalty for the Cottagers after Gabriel fouled Mario Lemina.

Finally, Diego Llorente’s late header saw Leeds fight back for a point in a 1-1 draw against Liverpool, who had claimed a 31st minute lead after Sadio Mane rifled in from Trent Alexander-Arnold’s pass.
