Ludlow previously managed Wales Women from 2014 until January this year when she resigned via ‘mutual consent’ in order to explore new challenges elsewhere.

Ludlow admitted that she is “excited and honoured” to join the club and has pledged to ensure that the Academy has “personal and football development” as its main priority to ensure that coming generations have a positive impact on the sport and society.
As part of her role, Ludlow is also keen to make positive changes, saying; “I am also committed to helping facilitate a creative, positive learning environment where both coaches and players can thrive and one that enables them to reach the highest levels of the game.”
Man City Women Managing Director, Gavin Makel also released a statement in which he spoke of how “delighted” he is to welcome Ludlow to the club in her new role.
Paying tribute to Ludlow’s quality and equal vision in developing young players four the future, Makel said; ““Her experiences and accomplishments as both a player and coach are up there with the very best, whilst her passion for developing young players matches that of our own.”
Makel also confirmed that he can’t wait to work with Ludlow “… to build upon the strong foundations” already rooted within the Girls Academy, with promising young players like Millie Davis and Katie Bradley starting to push for places in the senior team.
