Crystal Palace welcome Burnley to Selhurst Park in a mid Saturday afternoon Premier League clash.
Victory will send Palace up to 11th for at least 21 hours whereas Burnley can go 15th with a win for at least five hours.
Team News
James McCarthy could return for Palace after recovering from a knock which kept him out of their last two matches.
James McArthur (muscle), Joel Ward (knock), Wilfried Zaha (muscle), Jeffrey Schlupp (hamstring), Wayne Hennessey, Mamadou Sakho, Nathan Ferguson, Connor Wickham (all thigh) and James Tomkins (eye) remain sidelined.
Burnley have no fresh injury concerns with six players set to return after missing their midweek FA Cup exit to Bournemouth, including Nick Pope who was kept out by a knock but is fit for selection in this match.
Jack Cork (knock), Robbie Brady (Achilles), Charlie Taylor, Chris Wood (both hamstring) and Josh Brownhill (foot) could also return.
Stat Attack
- Crystal Palace have won four of their last six meetings against Burnley (W4, L2).
- Burnley are unbeaten in three of last five trips to Selhurst Park (W2, D1, L2).
- Two of last eight goals in this fixture have come from Burnley defenders, although Phil Bardsley’s effort was an own goal in a 3-1 win for Palace in March 2019.
- Luka Milivojevic has collected more yellow cards than any other Palace player this season in the Premier League, having been booked on six occasions in 19 appearances.
- James Tarkowski has made more tackles than any other Burnley player here, having produced 41 tackles in 20 league appearances.
Prediction
Palace will be disappointed with how they have again struggled to deliver a strong performance without Wilfried Zaha, because they were absolutely outplayed at Leeds on Monday and Burnley will be up for this game after crashing out of the FA Cup in midweek.
Burnley meanwhile produced a strong performance in last Saturday’s league game against Brighton but often lacked end product to their attacks, so if Palace can get their defensive tactics spot on then this could be another tough game for the Clarets.
This therefore will certainly be an intriguing clash because Palace will be looking to find some sort of form minus Zaha, whereas Burnley will be keen to go for it and get a win to move them even further clear of the relegation zone and this could boil down to a clinical goal at either end.
Prediction: Crystal Palace 0-1 Burnley
Result: Crystal Palace 0-3 Burnley
