Manchester City climbed onto the Premier League summit following a dramatic midweek round with implications at both ends of the table.

Newcastle’s extended their winless run in all competitions to 11 matches after losing 2-1 at home to Leeds, despite Miguel Almiron cancelling out Raphinha’s opener only for the Brazilian to set up Jack Harrison’s 61st minute winner for the visitors.
Finally, Thomas Tuchel’s bow as Chelsea manager ended in a stalemate at Stamford Bridge after his Blues were held to a goalless draw by Wolves.
