Sheffield United welcome Manchester United to Bramall Lane in the final match of the first midweek round in 2020-21 Premier League, exclusively live on Amazon Prime.

Victory will see Sheffield Utd move to within five points of relegation despite staying bottom, whereas Man Utd could climb as high as fifth with a win.

Oli McBurnie is expected to be available for Sheffield Utd despite being substituted during defeat at Southampton on Sunday with a knock to his shoulder.

Kean Bryan (calf) and Jack O’Connell (knee) are ruled out.

Man Utd could welcome Edinson Cavani back from an undisclosed injury that saw the Argentinean miss their last two matches.

Phil Jones remains absent indefinitely with a knee injury.

Stat Attack

  • Sheffield Utd have won just one of eight previous Premier League meetings against Manchester Utd (W1, D1, L6).
  • Man Utd are unbeaten in three of four previous Premier League trips to Bramall Lane (W2, D1, L1).
  • Neither team are yet to be awarded a penalty in this Premier League fixture after eight previous clashes.
  • No Sheffield Utd player has made more shots on target this season than Oli McBurnie, with 11 shots upon goal in 12 appearances.
  • Man Utd’s Bruno Fernandes is yet to score in the Premier League on his left foot after 25 appearances since joining in January.

Prediction

After Sunday’s woeful display at Southampton in which they were simply outclassed all over the pitch, Sheffield Utd do need a massive performance here if they’re to get a result because they were just horrible to watch from defending to lacking attacking intent.

Man Utd meanwhile put in a solid performance against Man City with some brilliant defending, which we rarely saw at home but their away form however has been consistently impressive even when fall behind because they have constantly fought back with mixed success.

I however can see one street traffic coming here compared to 12 months ago because unless Chris Wilder’s Blades pull off a similar performance which we saw here last season, there will just be one result.

Prediction: Sheffield United 0-3 Manchester United
