2025-26 League Two: Week 45 – Salford vs Bromley

Salford City look to keep their automatic promotion dreams alive against title-chasing Bromley in a blockbuster League Two showdown.

Victory would see Salford climb to third, whilst Bromley will move onto the cusp of the title with a win – which in that scenario could be confirmed on Saturday 25 April if MK Dons slip up at home to Tranmere.

A draw or defeat for Andy Woodman’s Ravens though would see the title fight go to the final day.

Team News

Salford could again be without Kadeem Harris and Fabio Borini after the pair missed their 2-1 win at Oldham due to knocks.

Jay Bird (Achilles), Dan Chesters (ACL), Kelly Nmai (knee), Michael Rose (leg) and Ben Woodburn (unspecified) remain absent.

Bromley have no fresh injury concerns to report following their goalless draw at home to Cambridge last Thursday (16 April).

Jesse Debrah (unspecified) and Michael Cheek (hamstring) remain absent.

When is Kick-Off?

Salford host Bromley at Peninsula Stadium on Thursday 23 April at 20:00pm BST, live on Sky Sports Football in the UK.

Stat Attack

  • Salford have claimed four points from their three previous EFL meetings against Bromley (W1, D1, L1).
  • Bromley drew 3-3 in their only previous EFL visit to Salford, but are yet to win at the Peninsula Stadium in all competitions (D1, L1).
  • Salford are yet to keep a clean sheet against Bromley in the EFL, and specifically their last four overall since they won their first-ever clash 2-0 away in the National League in September 2018.
  • Salford have dropped just two points in their last six home matches (W5, D1), across which they’ve kept four clean sheets.
  • Bromley have won just one of their last five matches (W1, D2, L2).

Prediction

With a massive chance to dish a psychological dent to Cambridge, Notts County and Swindon going into the weekend, Salford know that this is absolutely must-win otherwise they’re heading for the play-offs but they can take heart from their recent home form.

Bromley meanwhile are already promoted so it is easy for them to let their mindset dip with only the title to play for, yet Woodman sees the title as another serious target now which should motivate his players especially after their recent dip, although they were unlucky to not beat Cambridge.

I nevertheless expect a seriously strong battle here because this is a must-win for both clubs for different reasons but the pressure is more on Salford, so if Bromley can be clinical and soak up the Ammies’ pressure then I fancy them to nick this.

Prediction: Salford 1-2 Bromley

Result: Salford 2-0 Bromley
