2020-21 Sky Bet Championship: Week Three – Saturday

Millwall welcome Brentford to The Den in the first local derby of the 2020-21 Championship season.

Depending on results elsewhere, Millwall could go top with victory until at least Sunday, whereas Brentford can climb into the top six with a win.

Troy Parrott is the only doubt for Millwall after suffering a knock to his ankle in the Lions’ midweek Carabao Cup exit to Burnley.

Brentford have no fresh injury concerns with a full squad available for selection, although Said Benrahma is unlikely to feature due to ongoing transfer speculation regarding a move to Crystal Palace.

Stat Attack

  • Millwall are unbeaten in three of their last five meetings against Brentford (W2, D1, L2).
  • Brentford have won just one of their last four trips to The Den (W1, D1, L2).
  • Millwall have kept just one clean sheet in three home matches across all competitions this season.

Prediction

Millwall have made a scrappy start to this league season with a goalless home draw against Stoke before snatching a winner at Rotherham but are going to have to be on it here because Brentford bounced back from an opening day away defeat with a dominant home performance against Huddersfield.

It is also worth noting the contrasting midweek displays against Premier League opposition because Millwall were convincingly beaten by Burnley, whereas Brentford showed desire to twice fight back at West Brom before winning on penalties and if they bring that spirit here then I can see just one winner.

Prediction: Millwall 0-2 Brentford

Result: Millwall 1-1 Brentford
