Top meets bottom as Leeds United welcome Barnsley in a blockbuster Yorkshire derby at Elland Road in the 2019-20 Sky Bet Championship.
A win would put Leeds on the verge of promotion, whilst victory would move Barnsley off the foot of table and to within a point of safety.

Adam Forshaw (hip) remains absent but Kiko Casilla is available after completing an eight match ban following an alleged racist incident against Charlton striker, Jonathan Leko last September.
Barnsley will be without Elliot Simoes after the forward suffered ankle ligament damage as a result of a foul by Wigan’s Danny Fox on Saturday.
Stat Attack
- Leeds are unbeaten in their last seven meetings against Barnsley (W5, D1, L1).
- Barnsley have won just one of their last seven trips to Elland Road (W1, D3, L3)
- Leeds have won both of their last two home clashes against Barnsley by 2-1 results in October 2016 and April 2018 respectively.
Prediction
This is huge because not only promotion and relegation are at stake but also Yorkshire pride, which will make this an exciting encounter because Barnsley have defended well lately but not been clinical enough in front of goal.
Leeds meanwhile have avoided their traditional late season slump thanks to lockdown forcing the extended run-in beyond spring, so will definitely be relishing this game because victory would put their destiny in their own hands.
I definitely can see an exciting game here but given Leeds’ home form, I can’t see the Tykes doing anything to prevent a home win even though they realistically need something to boost their survival hopes.
Prediction: Leeds 3-0 Barnsley
Result: Leeds 1-0 Barnsley
