Charlton Athletic aim to end a four Championship match losing streak as they welcome Hull City to The Valley in Friday Night Football.
A win will see Charlton temporarily move above Derby into 16th, whereas Hull can go ninth with victory.
Team news
Embed from Getty ImagesLyle Taylor and Jonny Williams are doubts for Charlton as the pair continue their comeback from serious knee injuries.
Sam Field (knee), Josh Cullen and Erhun Oztumer (both ankle), Chuks Aneke (muscle), Ben Amos (finger), Jake Forster-Caskey (hamstring), Beram Kayal, George Lapslie and Lewis Page (all undisclosed) remain ruled out for the foreseeable future.
Hull have no fresh injury concerns to report as Norbert Balogh remains absent with a calf injury.
Josh Magennis (hamstring), Jon Toral (ankle) and Kevin Stewart (foot) are sidelined, although Magennis could return during the festive period.
Form
Charlton enter this match winless in their last four outings, including a pair of 1-0 defeats to Middlesbrough and Huddersfield in the past six days.
Hull are unbeaten in three of their last five matches (W2, D1, L2) but have taken just a single point from their last three away trips.
Stat Attack
- This is the 40th meeting between Charlton and Hull, despite first clashing in October 1929.
- Charlton are unbeaten in three of their last five league meetings with Hull (W1, D2, L2).
- None of Hull’s four goal scorers from their 6-0 win against Charlton in their last meeting – back in January 2016, still play for the club.
Prediction
It might be easy to write Charlton off at present given their injury crisis but they’re a good solid team as demonstrated on Tuesday, so expect them to give this a good go no matter the result.
Hull however look very dangerous when Kamil Grosicki or Jarrod Bowen are in possession, with defensive errors denying them a point at Leeds in midweek so I can see them hitting back with a comfortable win here.
Prediction: Charlton 0-2 Hull
Result: Charlton 2-2 Hull
