2026-27 Premier League: Week Nine – Brentford vs Forest

Brentford look to end their four-match winless streak across all competitions in a Premier League encounter against Nottingham Forest.

If Chelsea lose at lunchtime, victory would lift Brentford up to fifth in the table.

Forest can climb out of the relegation zone with a win.

Team News

Brentford have no fresh injury concerns to report after their 3-2 Carabao Cup exit at Sunderland on Wednesday evening.

Yehor Yarmoliuk (suspension), Rico Henry (hip/quad), Josh Dasilva (hamstring), Antoni Milambo (knock) and Kaye Furo (metatarsal) remain absent.

Forest will have Neco Williams available after the defender quickly recovered from an arm injury suffered during their 1-1 draw at Ipswich last weekend.

Nicolas Dominguez (muscle) and Dan Ndoye (hamstring) face late fitness checks, but Igor Jesus (calf) and Nicolo Savona (knee) remain absent.

When is Kick-Off?

Brentford host Forest at Gtech Community Stadium on Saturday 31 October at 3pm BST, untelevised live in the UK.

Stat Attack

  • Brentford are unbeaten in five of their eight previous Premier League meetings against Forest (W3, D2, L3).
  • Forest have won two of their four previous Premier League trips to Brentford (W2, L2), with both wins having came on their last two visits by 2-0 results.
  • Brentford drew 1-1 against Forest in their only previous league meeting played on Halloween in the Old Second Division at the Bees’ former home – Griffin Park.
  • Kevin Schade has won more top-flight duels than any other Brentford player this season (47).
  • Morgan Gibbs-White has produced more through-ball passes than any other Forest player this season (5).

Prediction

October certainly hasn’t been a treat for Brentford with no wins and sloppy goals on top of wasted chances, which essentially summed up their Carabao Cup exit at Sunderland because they were wasteful and sloppy in the first half, and were deservedly punished despite two consolatory goals.

Forest’s biggest issue meanwhile seems to be a mixture of goals and defending because they dominated at Ipswich yet weren’t clinical enough, whilst a sloppy defensive error in possession handed a point to the Tractor Boys so there is work to do to get things clicking.

This clash therefore feels like do-or-die for Forest and Oliver Glasner who have had a week to prepare, but they’re up against a team who will want a huge reaction to their cup exit in a game that they were favourites to win, and I honestly fancy the Bees to get a result at home.

Prediction: Brentford 2-1 Forest
