Bromley’s League One struggles continued as they fell to a 4-0 defeat against Leicester at the CopperJax Community Stadium.

Will Alves fired Leicester ahead in the fourth minute before John Lundstram put away a loose ball 12 minutes later to double their lead.

Luke Thomas added their third goal in the second minute of first-half additional time, before Emil Riis Jakobsen tucked away a 67th-minute pass from Sammy Braybrooke to wrap up the contest.

Bromley now slid to 23rd position in the table, whilst Leicester moved up to 10th and three points off the final play-off spot.

Having been separated by four tiers a decade ago as Bromley played their second season in the National League and Leicester unsuccessfully defended their Premier League title, anticipation was high in the sold-out crowd as Leicester went direct from kick off.

Bromley however were the first to threaten the goal as a second-minute free-kick was played back out to George Saville, yet he blazed his shot over the bar.

That wasted chance sparked Leicester into life and Kamari Doyle won a corner deep in the third minute from a blocked cross, which was blocked and the set-piece subsequently was played to Braybrooke who slipped the ball through for Alves to smash into the left corner to put the Foxes in front.

Doyle almost added a second goal from 30 yards in the 11th minute but Grant Smith was alert to comfortably gather the ball.

Leicester soon lucked into their second goal after Luke Thomas was clipped by Marcus Ifill on the edge of the box, which left everyone stopping in anticipation of a free-kick aside from Lundstram who pounced and tamely fired the ball into the left corner to double their lead.

Bromley struggled for chances throughout the remainder of the first half as Saville curled a 21st-minute free-kick straight into Alex McCarthy’s arms, before Victor Adeboyejo saw a shot saved five minutes later.

Leicester though struggled to extend their lead before half time as Emil Riis Jakobsen volleyed over from Caleb Okoli’s 27th-minute knockdown header, before he put a header onto the bar five minutes later on the rebound from Smith’s block of Luke Thomas’ shot.

Lundstram meanwhile saw a 34th-minute shot blocked by Smith after he was slipped in by fellow goalscorer, Alves.

Any hope that Bromley had of keeping their deficit to two goals at the break were extinguished in the second minute of additional time, as Braybrooke teed a pass across the box for Thomas to sweep into the left corner to net Leicester’s third goal.

Andy Woodman consequently hooked Omar Sowunmi, Richard Taylor, Corey Whitely and Victor Adeboyejo at half time for Michael Cheek, Jodi Jones, Kamarl Grant and Kamil Conteh respectively at half time.

His quadruple switch soon got the desired reaction as Bromley began the second half with a lively intensity to their play, which saw Conteh pounce on a knockdown clearance in the 48th minute, but the midfielder could only rifle wide of the left corner.

Leicester soon regained control and Lundstram saw his 56th-minute cross fired on goal by Louis Page, yet Saville deflected the younger’s shot over the bar.

Bromley’s second-half resistance soon came undone in the 67th minute after Braybrooke found himself played forward by Page, but he selflessly slipped Riis Jakobsen in to poke their fourth goal in past Smith.

Leicester nearly added a fifth goal in the 80th minute as Liam Cullen curled a shot towards the left corner, yet Smith was alert to make a right-handed punch to deflect the ball away from goal.

Bromley enjoyed a late spell of attacking intensity with no notable opportunities but Leicester ultimately saw the game out to record consecutive victories for the first time this season, whilst their last pair of back-to-back league wins came in November 2025 in the Championship.
