Niccolo Maccagnani has completed Trident’s driver line-up for the 2027 FIA Formula Three season.
Maccagnani made his debut in the category with Rodin at the final round of the 2026 season in Madrid, Spain, and recorded a best finish of 18th in the first feature race, whilst he finished 28th in the sprint then 24th in the second feature race.
Trident Team Principal, Giacomo Ricci is “very happy” to sign the 16-year-old Italian – who is part of Ferrari’s Driver Academy – and believes that he will need time to adapt to the category across a full season after his initial taste with Rodin.
“Niccolò is a young driver who has already shown that he has speed and potential, highlighting himself in the preparatory categories.
“The FIA Formula 3 Championship will represent a major challenge, with cars and levels of competitiveness superior to those it has faced so far.
“We are ready to give maximum support to Niccolò in this new phase of his career, working together to promote his growth and allow him to express his qualities to the fullest and to be the protagonist of a competitive season.”
Maccagnani will partner Kean Nakamura-Berta and Sebastian Wheldon at Trident.
