Middlesbrough have signed winger, Amario Cozier-Duberry on a season-long loan from Brighton & Hove Albion.
Cozier-Duberry’s loan to Middlesbrough comes after he signed a new contract with Brighton until June 2029, following a successful loan stint at Bolton last season as he helped the Trotters achieve promotion to the Championship via the League One Play-Offs, with 10 goals and 11 assists in 41 appearances.
Brighton’s Sporting Director, Mike Cave explained that Cozier-Duberry’s latest loan is a reflection of his graft and is excited to see him develop further in the Championship.
“Amario had an excellent year with Bolton Wanderers last season and was one of the standout players in the league helping them to promotion.
“He’s had a very good pre-season with the first-team, that alongside his form last season meant there was significant interest in signing him on loan this season.
“That interest and his new contract is a reflection of his attitude, ability and hard work; now we look forward to watching him continue his progress in the Championship this season.”
Cozier-Duberry joined Brighton in July 2024 from Arsenal where he had been part of the Gunners’ youth academy and went out on loan to Blackburn that season, in which his sole goal in 23 appearances came on his first senior start in a 2-0 win over Luton in December that year.
The youngster more recently made his Brighton debut as a substitute for Malick Yalcouye in a goalless first leg away to Tromso in their UEFA Conference League Play-Off, which the Seagulls eventually won with a 4-0 second-leg victory at home.
