Tottenham Hotspur have signed defender, Tosin Adarabioyo from Chelsea for an undisclosed transfer fee.
Adarabioyo’s move to Spurs on a three-year contract until June 2029 came after he scored seven goals in 70 appearances across the last two seasons with Chelsea, and was part of their UEFA Conference League and FIFA Club World Cup title-winning squads in summer 2025.
The 28-year-old now feels that he is in a key phase of the career and believes that Head Coach, Roberto De Zerbi is the right manager to extract his full potential.
“I’m in an important part of my career and speaking to the Head Coach and knowing the type of football he wants to play, I think it’s a very good fit. He wants the team to play with courage and that’s something that I always look to do.
“I want to achieve the absolute best, to push this team and this club as much as possible to where we deserve to be.
“That’s something that has to be done every single day, especially on the training pitch, and I will be bringing that mentality to the Club.”
De Zerbi added: “Tosin is a strong, athletic defender who plays with confidence and understands the demands of playing at the highest level.
“I’ve also been impressed with his mentality and desire to be part of what we are building. He knows the responsibility that comes with representing this Club.
“We’re very happy to have Tosin with us and I know our supporters will quickly see the qualities he can bring to the team.”
Adarabioyo began his playing career at Manchester City where he graduated through their academy and made eight senior appearances across 2015-16, 16-17 and 17-18 season, before he was loaned to West Brom and Blackburn in the following two seasons.
It was at the latter loan where Adarabioyo scored his first senior goal in a comeback 2-1 home win over Sheffield Wednesday in November 2019, and he went on to net another two goals that season for Rovers in victories over Charlton and Bristol City.
He then spent four years at Fulham where he netted five goals in 132 appearances and helped them win promotion in 2021-22 season to Premier League as Championship champions.
At international level, Adarabioyo is yet to make a senior appearance for England but has played at Under-16, 17, 18 and 19 levels.
