Millwall will face Newcastle United in the stand-out tie of the third round draw in the 2026-27 Carabao Cup.
Having overcame Championship’s West Bromwich Albion 3-2 at home in the second round, Matthias Jaissle’s Magpies will again face second-tier opposition after they were drawn away to Millwall at The Den.
Liverpool meanwhile will host Roberto De Zerbi’s Tottenham Hotspur at Anfield in an all Premier League blockbuster tie, whilst Michael Carrick’s Manchester United entertain Brighton & Hove Albion at Old Trafford.
Brentford’s reward for thrashing Birmingham City 6-1 in the second round is a third-round trip to Reading.
Coventry City will meet Aston Villa in a Midlands derby at the CBS Arena.
Third Round ties will be played across the midweeks of 8-9 and 15-16 September 2026, with Bournemouth, Crystal Palace and Sunderland facing Lincoln City, Middlesbrough and Hull respectively in the first midweek due to Europa League commitments in the second midweek.
