Leicester City have signed forward, Harry Howell on a season-long loan from Brighton & Hove Albion.
Howell made his Brighton debut in a 2-1 victory over Liverpool at home in May 2025 in the Premier League, and has since gone on to score one goal in seven first-team appearances for the Seagulls.
Brighton however have decided that now is the right time to send the 18-year-old out on loan to Leicester after he signed a new three-year contract until June 2029, with Sporting Director – Mike Cave believing that he can build on his exposure to senior football at the King Power Stadium.
“Harry has had good exposure to the first-team environment over the last 12 months and this loan gives him the opportunity to build on that further with regular senior football.
“We are very excited by Harry’s potential and look forward to seeing him continue to progress over the coming year.”
Howell meanwhile in his first interview to Leicester’s club website revealed that he is confident that he can deliver entertaining football for the fans and manager – Russell Martin.
“I’m delighted to be here. I think it’s a very good opportunity for me and my career. I’m just excited to get going.
“I’m a right winger or a no.10. I like to score goals and assist and take players on. I try to be as exciting as I can for the fans.
“I’ve spoken to the manager about what position I’m going to play, and what I can expect from him and what I need [to do] to get in his team. He’s made me feel welcome and I’m excited to get going with him.”
“He’s the type of manager that I like to play for in terms of style of play and hopefully we’ll suit each other.”
