Forward, Divin Mubama has joined Southampton on a season-long loan from Manchester City.

This loan marks Mubama’s second loan move since he joined City from West Ham in August 2024, having spent last season at Stoke where he scored five goals in 28 appearances amidst injury issues.

The 21-year-old now has joined Tonda Eckert’s Saints to boost their forward options and he is feeling confident about having the teammates to provide him with opportunities to shine, off the back of a strong pre-season at City.

“I believe in myself, one hundred per cent. With the way this team plays, when you’ve got players around you that have that much quality, you will be served. It’s up to you whether you put the ball in the back of the net, and that’s what I’m here to do.

“I’ve just come back from a pre-season where I’ve scored goals. I’ve been playing, I feel really fresh, I feel sharp, so I’m just really excited to get going.”

Southampton’s Sporting Director, Johannes Spors added: “Divin is an extremely talented striker who, despite his age, joins us with previous experience of the Championship.

“As soon as we knew about Divin’s availability we acted quickly to bring him here, not just because of his incredible goal scoring ability, but because of his work ethic and hunger to help the team, which will be vitally important this season.”

Mubama could make his debut for Southampton away at Watford in their Championship opener on Sunday 16 August at 1:30pm BST, before his home bow could be against Stoke at St Mary’s Stadium on Saturday 22 August at 3pm.

The Saints will then face another of Mubama’s former teams on either 25 or 26 August after they drew West Ham at home in the second round of this season’s Carabao Cup.
