Blackpool have signed defender, Fin Munroe on a season-long loan from Middlesbrough.

Munroe’s loan move to Blackpool comes after he managed just three substitute appearances for Boro in the second half of last season following his transfer from Aston Villa in January.

Speaking to Blackpool’s club website about his loan switch, Munroe praised manager – Ian Evatt for persuading him to join with his ambitions for this season.

“I’ve had some really positive discussions with the gaffer.

“The way he wants to play and the ambitions he has for this season really attracted me to the Club. I think it’s a good fit for me.”

Evatt added: “We are delighted to have added Finley to our ranks, providing further quality to our back line ahead of the league campaign kicking off this weekend.

“He is someone who has undoubted quality and is keen to progress even further here at Bloomfield Road.

“I believe he will be a key player for us on the left-hand side of our team and I can’t wait to start working with him.”

Munroe began his career at Villa where he made just two first-team appearances in the 2023-24 season before he spent the following season at Spain’s Real Union, where he netted one goal in 27 appearances.

He then spent the first half of last season at League Two’s Swindon where he produced two goals and seven assists in 27 appearances.
