Winger, Harvey Barnes has signed a new long-term contract at Newcastle United.
Since his move from Leicester in July 2023, Barnes has scored 30 goals and created 14 assists in 120 appearances plus was part of their Carabao Cup title-winning squad in the 2024-25 season.
The 28-year-old has now signed a new long-term contract of an undisclosed length to extend his stay at Newcastle into the next decade, and he is pleased to sort out his future before the new season commences.
“It feels great to sign this new contract so early before the new season starts. It’s been an amazing journey so far and I’m delighted to continue that.
“When I first joined the club I quickly learned what a special place it is, but after three years here I know that even more. I love everything about it – the city, the stadium, the people – and I’m really happy extending my time here.
“I’ve had a taste of success in the last few years and enjoyed some really special moments with this team. We all want more of that and I want to be a key player that helps push the club forward.”
Head Coach, Eddie Howe added that Barnes had earned his new contract on merit through his graft and quality.
“Harvey’s new contract is very well deserved and a reflection of the work he’s put in and the quality he’s shown throughout his three years at Newcastle United.
“Harvey is a player who has consistently produced special moments at vital times for the team. He’s calm in front of goal, whether that’s one-on-one or from distance, and is always a threat from wide areas.
“Harvey has vast experience at the highest level but we believe there is still more to come.”
