2026-27 Premier League: Week Six – Hull vs Everton

Hull City look to bounce back from their first Premier League defeat of the season as they face Everton.

Victory will lift Hull above Everton and up to fourth in the table for at least a few hours, whilst Everton likewise can go fourth themselves with a win.

Team News

Brooke Norton-Cuffy could return for Hull after he missed their 2-1 defeat at Newcastle before the international break due to a hamstring injury.

Hidemasa Morita (adductor), Nobel Mendy (concussion), Tim Iroegbunam (knee) and Elliot Stroud (illness) could also feature.

Jack Butland (arm), Eliot Matzo (ACL), Matt Targett (ankle), Darko Gyabi (adductor), Ilyas Ansah (back) and Charlie Hughes (hernia) are still ruled out.

Everton could have Vitaliy Mykolenko available after the defender returned early from international duty for Ukraine due to a leg injury.

Merlin Rohl and Christian Norgaard could feature after recovering from undisclosed injuries.

When is Kick-Off?

Hull host Everton at MKM Stadium on Sunday 11 October at 2pm BST, televised live on Sky Sports Premier League in the UK.

Stat Attack

  • Hull have lost just one of their last four Premier League meetings against Everton (W1, D2, L1).
  • Everton have won just one of five previous Premier League visits to Hull (W1, D2, L2).
  • Mohamed Belloumi has been involved in four of Hull’s six league goals so far this season – having produced two goals and assists apiece in five appearances.
  • Harrison Armstrong has committed more fouls than any other Everton player in the top flight this season, having committed nine fouls in five appearances.

Prediction

With their first league defeat of the season having came just before the international break, Hull psychologically could have either let the pain of that result linger these last three weeks or use it as motivation to produce an immediate atonement so the opening phases will be telling.

Everton on the other hand are still unbeaten but have tended to keep it defensively tight with three clean sheets in their five league games, but they do still have one central forward in Thierno Barry who thankfully has found his groove this season but they need more players stepping up now.

This clash also has a contrast of styles with Everton’s aggressive attacking play against Hull’s counter-attacking approach so I expect this to be quite edgy and fun, but I just think that Hull will nick this.

Prediction: Hull 1-0 Everton

Result: Hull 2-2 Everton
