Goalkeeper, James Beadle has signed a new contract at Brighton & Hove Albion, plus rejoined Birmingham City on loan.
Beadle has signed a new four-year contract with Brighton until June 2030 with Sporting Director, Mike Cave happy to see the 22-year-old committed to the club in the long term, whilst returning on loan to Birmingham for a second season after he conceded 41 goals in 38 appearances last season.
“We rate James very highly and we’re delighted that he has committed his long-term future to the club.
“He had a successful loan at St Andrew’s last season and he is returning to an environment he knows well. We wish him all the best for the season ahead.”
“James is an exceptional young goalkeeper and we’re delighted to welcome him back to the Club,” commented Birmingham manager, Chris Davies who felt that Beadle constantly improved in every appearance he made last season.
“When he earned his opportunity last season, he established himself and I thought his performances continued to improve as the campaign went on.”
“He’s still only 22 but already has significant Championship experience, and those experiences will only make him a better goalkeeper. Every season he has played at this level, he has continued to develop, and we’re looking forward to helping him take the next step again this year.”
Davies also praised Brighton for showing unwavering commitment and belief in Beadle who won the UEFA Under-21 Euro with England last summer.
“The regard in which James is held is reflected by Brighton and by England. He’s an Under-21 European champion, he’s trained with the senior international squad and there’s a real belief in his potential.”
