Bromley goalkeeper, Shamal George is “buzzing” to join the club ahead of the 2026-27 season.
George was Bromley’s second signing of the transfer window on a free transfer following his release by Wycombe Wanderers, and the 28 year-old is now excited to get stuck into life with the Ravens in his first interview with the club’s YouTube channel.
“Uh, yeah, buzzing. Um, you know, came along a few weeks ago, so it’s uh was buzzing to get over the line and can’t wait to get started.”
George proceeded to praise manager, Andy Woodman for his positive personality and the feedback from his former Colchester teammate – Omar Sowunmi for persuading him to come to Bromley.
“Yeah, man is a top guy. Uh, I know obviously his son’s a goalkeeper and he is a goalkeeper as well. So, uh, we got things that are similar. So, uh, no, he’s a top guy and, obviously I know Omar as well from Colchester and stuff like that.
“So he gave me really good feedback from the club and it’s something I wanted to be a part of and, yeah, the pitch and stuff and the ground is something that I can’t wait to play at.”
George also spoke of his desire to help the club push on in their maiden League One campaign, whilst he too believes that his career is now on the right trajectory after a successful loan at St Mirren during which he was part of their Scottish League Cup title-winning squad with a 3-1 win over Celtic in the final.
“Yeah, obviously I’ve seen that they got promoted obviously last year, won the league. So hopefully we can push on again and um yeah, we’ll go we’ll get as high as we can and see where we can finish.”
“Um, had a really good season myself and it was a really positive positive year for me and um it put me in the right direction for me to push on again.”
