Colombia face DR Congo in Group K at the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
Victory would see Colombia stay top and book their knockout spot, whilst they can advance as Group K winners if Portugal fail to beat Uzbekistan.
DR Congo can go top with a win by a larger margin than Portugal if the latter beat Uzbekistan.
Team News
Colombia have no fresh injury concerns to report after their 3-1 victory over Uzbekistan.
DR Congo too have no fresh injury concerns to report after their 1-1 draw against Portugal.
When is Kick-Off?
Colombia face DR Congo at Estadio Akron, Zapopan, Mexico, on Tuesday 23 June at 8pm CST (3am BST, Wednesday 24 June), live on ITV1 and ITVX in the UK.
Stat Attack
- This is Colombia’s first-ever senior World Cup meeting against DR Congo.
- DR Congo are meeting Colombia for the first time in all senior competitions.
- Colombia’s Jefferson Lerma failed to convert any of his three shots onto target against Uzbekistan.
- Four of DR Congo’s nine crosses against Portugal were produced by Arthur Masuaku.
Prediction
Having comfortably dispatched Uzbekistan in their group-opener, Colombia now will have to accept that patience will be needed to break down DR Congo’s resolute defence alongside clinical creativity which Portugal lacked in their final touches.
DR Congo meanwhile know that they have a great chance of a top-three finish in this group after their clinical draw against Portugal and with Uzbekistan to come in their last game, but a win here would give them a great opportunity to at least finish second if can be clinical and don’t concede early.
Colombia though are a solid team and I honestly can see both teams getting something out of this match.
Prediction: Colombia 1-1 DR Congo
