2026 FIFA World Cup: Group B – Switzerland vs Bosnia

Switzerland face Bosnia & Herzegovina in their second Group B match at 2026 FIFA World Cup.

With all four teams in Group B locked on one point apiece after a pair of 1-1 draws in the first round of matches, victory would put Switzerland or Bosnia & Herzegovina top of the table.

Team News

Miro Muheim is a doubt for Switzerland after he suffered a muscle injury in training.

Bosnia could be without defender, Sead Kolasinac after he suffered a knock during their 1-1 draw against Canada.

Edin Dzeko (shoulder) and Haris Tabakovic (metatarsal) are doubts, whilst Nidal Celik was a late withdrawal after he suffered a knee injury the day before their first group match.

When is Kick-Off?

Switzerland face Bosnia & Herzegovina at SoFi Stadium, Inglewood, USA, on Thursday 18 June at 12pm PDT (8pm BST), live on ITV1 and ITVX in the UK.

Stat Attack

  • This is Switzerland’s first World Cup meeting against Bosnia & Herzegovina.
  • Bosnia & Herzegovina won their only previous meeting against Switzerland by a 2-0 friendly result in March 2016.
  • Switzerland have drawn three of their last four matches (W1, D3).
  • Bosnia & Herzegovina have claimed four points from two of their four previous World Cup matches (W1, D1, L2).

Prediction

Having dominated Qatar comfortably throughout their clash, Switzerland will be frustrated that their end product lacked accuracy which has to improve if they’re to get out of the group, so I do expect a strong response because they really should be winning this group.

Bosnia & Herzegovina though won’t be easy opposition given how well organised they were defensively against Canada and clinical when had spells of control, making this clash a tough one to call because I can see them confidently absorbing the Swiss’ attacking pressure if their end product isn’t sharper.

My instinct is simply that this will end in a draw but both teams will be favourites in their last group matches to advance to the knockout stages.

Prediction: Switzerland 1-1 Bosnia & Herzegovina
