Defender, Idris Odutayo has departed Bromley for Dundee on a free transfer.
Odutayo joined Andy Woodman’s Ravens in February 2024 from Fulham and helped them achieve promotion just three months later via the National League Play-Offs into the EFL for the first time, and went on to play a big role in the club’s successful consolidation in League Two.
The 23 year-old scored twice in 45 league appearances last season as Bromley proceeded to claim promotion to League One as League Two champions, but has now decided to leave Hayes Lane upon the expiry of his contract on 30 June despite negotiations with the club over a new contract.
In a club statement, Bromley thanked Odutayo for his contributions to their success in which he produced five goals and 11 assists in 103 appearances across two-and-a-half years.
“We thank Idris for his contributions during his time at BR2 and wish him all the best for the future.”
Odutayo meanwhile issued a farewell statement on his Instagram account in which he spoke of his gratitude to the club for developing him as a player on and off the pitch and fans plus teammates for their support.
“After an incredible journey, the time has come for me to say goodbye to Bromley Football Club.
First and foremost, I want to thank the chairman, gaffer and his staff for giving me the platform, believing in me, and allowing me to grow both on and off the pitch. I’ll always be grateful for the trust and opportunities I was given.
“To the fans, thank you for your unbelievable support every single week. Through the highs and lows, your backing never went unnoticed, and it meant so much to me every time I stepped onto the pitch wearing the shirt.
“To my teammates, thank you for the memories, the battles, and the friendships that will last far beyond football. It’s been a privilege to share the dressing room with such a great group of people.
“I also want to thank all of the backroom staff who worked tirelessly behind the scenes and made the club feel like a home. Your support and dedication played a huge part in making my time here so special.
“Together, we created memories that will stay with me forever. Achieving two promotions, champions of league 2 and making history by reaching the third round of the FA Cup are moments I’ll always be proud to have shared with this club in my 2 and a half years at the club
“As difficult as it is to leave, I feel ready for a new challenge and the next chapter of my career. I leave with nothing but gratitude, respect, and incredible memories.
“Thank you, Bromley. I wish the club, the staff, the players, and the fans nothing but success for the future.
“Once a Raven, always a Raven.”

Odutayo has signed for Scottish Premiership’s Dundee on a two-year contract with an option for a further year, with the deal set to be officially completed on 1 July once his contract at Bromley has expired at midnight on 30 June.
The left-back is excited to make the move and help Dundee progress up the Scottish Premiership after they finished eighth last season.
“It’s brilliant to get this move sorted and I can’t wait to get started at Dundee. There is a lot of positivity around the club off the back of last season, and I just want to get stuck in and hopefully play my part in another good year.
“Just from looking around the place I felt that Dundee would be a great fit for me, and speaking to Steven Pressley and David Longwell made me certain this was where I wanted to go. The season gets underway really soon and I’m looking forward to meeting everybody and giving it my best here.”
