Bromley Secure Trio of Nominations for 2025-26 PFA League Two Player of Year

Bromley have secured a trio of nominations for 2025-26 PFA League Two Player of the Year Award. 

Cheek’s nomination comes a year after he won the award in his debut EFL season and reflects another successful campaign, in which he scored 16 goals and created three assists before a hamstring injury curtailed his season in early March.

The 34 year-old forward also achieved his first EFL hat-trick in a 3-1 victory away at Crawley Town in late December, which saw the Ravens go top of the table.

Bromley nevertheless went on to secure promotion and the League Two title without their lead forward, with left winger – Mitch Pinnock and Omar Sowunmi impressing across the campaign too to earn the Ravens three nominations for the League Two Player of the Year Award.

Pinnock was a huge creative contributor across the season in terms of his passes, crosses and chance creation, whilst he also managed two goals and ten assists as he proved a key player on his return to the CopperJax Stadium after a decade away.

Sowunmi’s nomination comes after a successful season as Bromley’s defensive rock with seven goals and one assist, especially after the departure of his central-defensive partner – Deji Elerewe for Lincoln City in January.

Sowunmi also netted the last goal of Bromley’s title-winning season in a 3-1 final-day victory at home to Walsall, with Pinnock having also found himself on the scoresheet in that match.

Swindon’s Aaron Drinan headlines the fellow nominations after he netted 28 goals and contributed six assists in 46 total appearances across all competitions, and finished the League Two campaign as the top scorer with 21 goals in the fourth tier.

MK Dons’ Calum Paterson is nominated after he contributed 16 goals and nine assists in 39 total appearances in a successful campaign, which saw MK Dons finish runners-up and promoted to League One.

Leicester loanee, Sammy Braybrooke rounds off the shortlist after he produced two goals and four assists in 43 combined appearances across loan spells at Newport County and Chesterfield.

The winner will be announced at Manchester Opera House on Tuesday 25 August 2026.
